Half Year Teams are an entry level product that is offered as an introduction to traditional all star cheer. These groups welcome beginner athletes. They will start practice in September, meeting once a week at our facility in Hermantown. These teams plan to perform twice times this season in Minneapolis, as well as perform locally for friends and family at our annual Ideal Showcase in the Spring. Because of this, not only is the time commitment lower than our full-season teams, so is the financial obligation.
We have two offerings at this time, Exhibition and Prep.
Both teams will base placements purely on age. The athlete’s birth year will determine their competitive age. Our exhibition team will be in the Tiny division for athletes ages 3-6. Our goal is to create two competitive prep teams this fall: Mini (Ages 6-8) and Youth/Junior (Ages 9-14). We will enter the youngest division possible if we cannot field two teams. Practices will kick off in September and run through March with all performances and events happening in 2023. No experience is necessary, and all athletes will learn the basics of stunting, tumbling, jumps and dance. Teams are coached by USASF credentialed coaches, following their rules and guidelines for our sport.
